MISSION STATEMENT
The Columbia County Fire Department is dedicated to safe-guarding the lives, property and environment of our community through exceptional service utilizing education, preparedness, prevention and response to emergency incidents. An essential function of the department is to provide opportunities for a positive presence in the community. A strong emphasis is placed on connecting the Fire Department and the community together.
Check out the training section for news on Columbia County Fire Rescue's new public training class "Friends and Family CPR". This class is offered free and featured at a different community center each month. Class is limited to 15 persons per session so there is plenty of hands-on training for each attendee.
If you are a firefighter, check out the upcoming Gateway Challenge to be held at the Lake City Rodeo Arena on October 9th, 2010 starting at 10:00 AM. This ought to be a blast to participate in and something to watch for the general public. See our men and women in action and see a small bit of the training they do on a regular basis!
